Last December, my husband and I went for a road trip to Arizona. After visiting Sedona (read about it here) and the Petrified Forest National Park (read about it here), we headed south towards Tucson to visit Saguaro National Park!
We’ve all seen a photo of this cactus before, right?! It’s because saguaros are an icon of the Southwest! Continue reading “A guide to Saguaro National Park”
I had heard very little about the Petrified Forest National Park before our visit. All I knew was that there’s wood turned rock in it! Isn’t that fascinating? Given that we love how well organized and maintained the national parks are in this country…we were sold! So I planned a quick visit while we were staying in Sedona for a hiking trip (read more about it here!) last December. Continue reading “A guide to Petrified Forest National Park”
One thing I had heard about Sedona was that it was a hiking paradise; and after only two days spent there, I can assure you it’s true! The number of trails available is staggering, the beauty of this place is stunning and the weather was perfect in December! Continue reading “Sedona – 2 days hiking in Red Rock Country”
Last September we had to drop family off at the Dulles Airport, which is a 2 and a half hour drive from our home. We thought that we didn’t want to drive so much for nothing, so we decided to explore the area! First thing that came to mind was Shenandoah National Park. Continue reading “A day in Shenandoah National Park & Great Falls Park”
Last May-June we took on an adventure to the beautiful country of Iceland. We drove all around the country in a camper van, making this an epic road trip filled with waterfalls, volcanos, glaciers, mountains and all kinds of stunning landscapes! Day 5 – Vatnajökull National Park, Vik, Skógafoss, Seljalandfoss and Gljúfrabúi
First thing we did was head to the Svínafellsjökull glacier, which was very close to our camping site. Just a very short walk away from the parking lot, you get to see the glacier from close by. Continue reading “Iceland road trip in a camper van – Part II”
Iceland was a destination on our bucket list for a very long time. It’s a rugged, wild and incredibly beautiful country. So when we found a good price on Wow Air for last May-June, we booked in a heartbeat! Continue reading “Iceland road trip in a camper van – Part I”
Here’s Part II of our week in California in which we visited 5 National Parks. You can find the itinerary of the first part of our trip here!
Day 4 – Yosemite National Park – Yosemite Valley
Highlights: Mirror Lake, Columbia Rock, Three Brothers, El Capitan, Valley View, Bridalveil Falls, Cathedral Rocks, Tunnel View, Glacier Point, Mariposa Grove
Our second day in Yosemite was not as good of an experience because of the heavy smoke created by the fire in the nearby area. Mirror Lake was in our itinerary for the day so we took the shuttle to the trailhead anyway. Continue reading “California: Five National Parks in one epic week – Part II”
California has something that keeps pulling you back in, doesn’t it? My first visit to Cali (and to the U.S. for that matter) was when I was 17. A lot has changed since then, that’s for sure, but the longing to go back to the “Golden State” had not. Continue reading “California: Five National Parks in one epic week – Part I”
